Inside Look at Aerolase

We all have skin imperfections, whether it’s scars, wrinkles, acne or redness. Minor flaws can have a major impact on how we look and feel in our skin. But guess what? There is a technology designed to help minimize the appearance of those troubling marks. Here’s an inside look at Aerolase.

What is Aerolase?

Aerolase Neo Elite is a medical device designed to treat all types of aesthetic skin afflictions. The technology uses a medical laser to treat everything from loose and wrinkled skin to acne and acne scarring to psoriasis. The unique 650-microsecond technology is naturally attracted to the skin’s melanin, hemoglobin and water. All these afflictions can be affected by aging and are the root cause of skin damage. Aerolase is safe, gentle on skin and effective for all skin tones and types.

What are the benefits of Aerolase?

Aerolase Neo Elite offers multiple benefits to the skin! The first is its unmatched efficacy to allow deep penetration with the high power laser. The second is the Neo Elite’s range of unique beam profiles that can reach large spot sizes of up to 10mm and 1.5msec pulse durations. The Aerolase technology is also versatile because it has wavelength options to treat several conditions that would traditionally require a few different lasers. The Neo Elite delivers high amounts of energy within a short pulse time targeting only the affected area. The surrounding tissue is not at risk of being overheated, eliminating potential burns, scarring or purpura.

What conditions does Aerolase treat?

An Aerolase treatment helps a wide variety of skin conditions, including acne, angiomas, bruising, cutaneous lesions, decubitus ulcers, melasma, nails, pigmented lesions, psoriasis, rosacea and redness, scars and striae, skin rejuvenation, spider veins, vascular lesions and warts.

How long does an Aerolase treatment last?

Treatment sessions typically take between 20 minutes to an hour. The exact time will depend on what is being treated and the treatment area. Treatments are stress-free and can be scheduled around your busy life.

What should you do before and after an Aerolase treatment?

Immediately before treatment, remove any make-up and/or lotions to ensure the skin is dry in the area to be treated. You may return to your normal daily activities immediately after your treatments. Avoid extended sun exposure or tanning for at least one week post-treatment. Any redness that occurs, if any, should disappear within a few hours after the treatment, and if you would like, apply an ice pack. Use of broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 30 is very important after receiving any laser treatment and reapplying throughout the day. To achieve the best results, complete the full treatment schedule at the intervals recommended by your laser practitioner.

Are there any side effects to Aerolase?

You may experience discomfort with a mild sensation of pain. Some skin flushing may occur, but it typically resolves within several hours. There is a small chance of scarring, so you must follow all post procedure instructions carefully and share any prior history of unfavorable healing before your appointment. Pigment changes can also be a side effect of Aerolase Neo Lite when the treated area may heal with lighter or darker pigmentation. Hyperpigmentation usually fades in three to six months; however, pigment changes can be permanent.
