Facial Balancing with Botox and Fillers: What to Know

Profiloplasty is the technical term used for a popular treatment known as profile or facial balancing. The goal is to create balance and harmony within the different aspects of your facial features.

Facial balancing uses the concept of “phi,” the golden ratio, to achieve your face’s ideal proportions and angles. It is entirely customizable for your specific features. The process is non-invasive because it uses a combination of fillers to create stunning results.

The goal is facial symmetry, targeting areas like the nose, cheeks, brows, lips, chin, forehead, and hairline. The goal is to optimize your facial proportions like a selfie filter.

Facial Balancing: How it Works

Facial balancing requires a skilled professional with an artistic eye because of their training in facial anatomy, understanding of different fillers, and knowing how much to inject in specific areas of the face.

Facial balancing should not be a DIY procedure. Just because products are available for sale doesn’t mean the average person has the expertise to use them.  Improper administration of fillers could lead to infection and disastrous results.

A skilled technician understands where to put a filler for optimum results and what type to use in a specific area.

By scheduling a consultation with a LightRx technician, they will begin by evaluating the balance of your facial features and profile. Next, they will discuss the different types of fillers and, finally, your treatment goal.

Understanding Botox and Fillers

Our skin naturally loses elasticity and volume as we age. This results in wrinkles, lines, and a hollow appearance. Dermal fillers add volume and enhance facial features to alleviate this lack of volume.

Dermal fillers are made of materials like hyaluronic acid, collagen, and calcium hydroxyapatite to create a plumper, more youthful appearance. Botox is used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles for a refreshed look.

The beauty of Botox and injectable dermal fillers is the natural results. They can be used anywhere on the face and dramatically transform your features, but you will still look like yourself for flawless results.

Facial balancing typically lasts 1-1.5 years and provides rapid results without downtime, pain, or the high price tag of surgically invasive procedures like rhinoplasty or other costly procedures.

Types of fillers

At LightRx, we offer a variety of Botox and fillers to create stunning results!

Botox: made from botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin that, when injected into your facial muscles, blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles, causing them to relax. This action effectively smooths fine lines and wrinkles.

Jeuveau is a popular cosmetic filler that reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Jeuveau is a purified protein that targets the muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles. It is an effective treatment option with limited side effects.

Juvederm is another dermal filler designed to restore volume that has been lost due to aging or weight loss. A gel-like substance injected into the skin immediately adds lost volume and smooths fine lines and wrinkles.

Kybella is an injectable that works to eliminate double chins and improve the appearance of the jawline. The active ingredient occurs naturally in the body to help break down and absorb fat. Without downtime or surgery, this injectable can achieve a more contoured and defined jawline.

Our other products, Voluma, Volbella, and Vollure, target specific facial areas and add to our full complement of injectables to meet your cosmetic needs.
